"The experience of living and studying in Italy greatly informs and influences my current body of work. I am deeply fed by the immersion within European culture as well as the fresh perspective it provides me about the rest of the world. My ideas are fluid - flowing between the sensuality of the Italian landscape and the overlapping, repetition of the human story. I see connections with where we've been and where we are going. I attempt to illustrate the layers of time, which we drag with us from our past and into our future. I see the painting as an opportunity to explore these journeys through time."

Holly Parker Dearborn is a Colorado native who served in the Colorado Springs art community for a number of years before embarking on her MFA studies in Italy and Washington DC. Among other graphic design and advertising director positions, she spent six years in management for the Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts.
